Let the slaughter begin: "Shogun assassin" (1980) Print E-mail

ImageI've always been a fan of Hong Kong movies; actors like Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao were among my favorites. My thought was that this part of the world mostly created movies that were filled with Kung Fu action mixed with comedy; this of course had a connection with what movies I was watching at that time.

Brings back memories: Goonies (1985) Print E-mail

Almost there: "Flight of the Navigator" Print E-mail

ImageSometimes I want to go back in time and slap a group of filmmakers with a phonebook only because of their poor choice in directing or casting. I've seen so many movies that have had the potential of becoming big blockbusters but fail right at the finishing line. If they only made the movie a little darker, invested in a little better costume, wrote a little better story. Just a little bit could have gone a long way.

ImageYears ago, before Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor and even before James Earl Jones was degraded to "This is CNN", there was a powerful movie that starred both these actors. Me and my brothers are, and have always been, avid readers of the Conan comic books. We still buy the weekly issue and use much of our time reading about this righteous mans ways.
